Directions from LA: Take the 5 North. The 5 turns into the 99 North about 20 miles below Bakersfield. Take the 99 into Bakersfield, then take the 178 East exit toward Lake Isabella. The 178 E goes through part of Bakersfield, then eventually becomes a mountain road that leads to the Kern River Valley. When you get to Lake Isabella, take Exit 43, which is the 155 to Wofford Heights/Kernville. Stay on that road for approximately 10 miles, which will take you right into Kernville.

From San Diego: Take the 15 North to Highway 395, then the 395 north to Highway 178 (at Inyokern). Take 178 west to Highway 14 south for three miles, then turn right on Highway 178 west again over Walker Pass. When you get to Lake Isabella, take the 155 to Wofford Heights/Kernville.

From Fresno/N. of Bakersfield: Take the 99 South to Bakersfield, then take the 178 East exit toward Lake Isabella. Follow the remainder of the directions from LA.
